Devon Consortium

The Devon Consortium is a group of voluntary and community infrastructure organisations that plan to provide the framework within which Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs) in Devon acknowledge they are within the unique profile of Devon’s geography and rurality. The Devon Consortium exists to provide a framework within which VCO’s in Devon feel that they are:

  • Devon ConsortiumRepresented
  • Influential
  • Respected
  • Sustainable
  • Engaged
  • Receiving appropriate services to required standards.

Its aim is that by 2014 Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs) will have access to high quality, coordinated and sustainable support to enable them to influence policy and programme development and to fulfil, to their highest potential, opportunities for voluntary action and the delivery of services to the people of Devon.

The Devon Consortium has 20 members, with a Management Board of 10 members (this includes a Chair as well as 3 observers).

The Devon Consortium has been formed from the Devon Association of CVS (DACVS) and of organisations representing Young People, Older People, Diversity, Health, Rural, Environment, Volunteering, Black Ethnic Minority Groups, faith groups and disability groups.

The latest edition of the Devon Consortium Newsletter can be downloaded here.

The Devon Consortium also holds an Annual Voluntary and Community Assembly, open to all VCOs. This is to be held in January 2009.
